Adolescent Therapy
At Blossom Therapy, LLC, I will provide compassionate, culturally grounded therapy for teens navigating school stress, identity, relationships, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I will create a safe, nonjudgmental space where adolescents can build coping skills, improve communication, and strengthen resilience. I will partner with caregivers while honoring each teen’s unique background and goals to support healthy growth and well‑being.
Providing care for ages 13-17
Teens may benefit from therapy for many reasons. Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to explore feelings, develop coping skills, and build resilience. Common reasons teens seek therapy include:
Persistent sadness or low mood
Anxiety that interferes with daily life (school, social activities, sleep)
Panic attacks or intense worry
Mood swings, irritability, or sudden changes in behavior
Difficulty managing anger or impulses
Trouble with concentration, motivation, or academic performance
Changes in sleep or appetite that affect functioning
Social difficulties: trouble making or keeping friends, peer rejection, bullying, social anxiety
Family conflict, communication problems, or parental divorce/separation
Grief and loss (death of a loved one, pet, or major life change)
Trauma exposure (abuse, assault, accidents, witnessing violence)
Self-harm behaviors or thoughts of self-injury
Suicidal thoughts or behaviors (requires immediate professional attention)
Identity exploration and support (sexual orientation, gender identity, cultural identity)
Low self-esteem, body image concerns, or perfectionism
Substance use or experimentation that’s causing concern
School-related stress: test anxiety, college/career planning pressure, bullying, or learning challenges
Major life transitions: moving, new schools, parental deployment, or family changes
Chronic illness or medical conditions that affect emotional well-being
Eating concerns or disordered eating behaviors
Legal issues, risky behavior, or association with risky peer groups
Need for improved coping skills, problem-solving, or emotion regulation
Desire for confidential support when a teen feels they can’t talk with family or friends
Therapy can be short-term for a specific issue or longer-term for deeper exploration. It can teach practical skills—like emotion regulation, communication, stress management, and boundary-setting—while also providing validation and support. Early help often prevents problems from escalating and improves relationships, school functioning, and overall well-being.
If a teen is experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, or if there’s immediate danger, seek emergency help right away.
Caregiver support
At Blossom Therapy, LLC, I provide caregiver support alongside individual work with teens to strengthen family communication, build consistent boundaries, and create a safe home environment that reinforces therapeutic progress. Caregivers are invited into treatment through regular check-ins, skill-building sessions, and collaborative care planning so they feel informed, empowered, and equipped to support their teen’s emotional growth while respecting the teen’s autonomy and confidentiality.
